Switch diagramAlmost all switches are going to be similar to a house light switch, in that they have two poles. For a light rig, it is really all you need anyway. One pole has the HOT 120V line coming from main power, the other pole goes to the ballasts or other load. All you are doing is joining those two when the switch is on, and disconnecting them when the switch is off. For two pole switches, it is literally that simple, and no need to make it more complicated than it is.
