UVA, UVB, UVC
It is best to think of UVA, UVB and UVC as colors. Technically, they are, it is just that you can I can't see them. Many birds and insects see UVA very well. Here is a representation:

Some light, you can't see, such as infrared. It has larger waves, too large to see, but you can feel them when you sit near a fire.

Other light has waves that are too small to see, starting with ultraviolet. You can see from 700nm (red) all the way to violet at 400nm. From 400nm to 320nm, we call that "color" UVA. The next in line ranges from 280nm to 320nm and is called UVB. This has higher energy, smaller waves, and can burn you. The next is UVC, which ranges from 10nm to 280nm. This has a LOT MORE ENERGY and can burn you in seconds. Fluorescent lamps do not produce UVC, it requires a different technology. UVC is kind of tricky and requires extra safety protocols. All UV causes damage, A, B and C, just in different ways.

On a bright sunny, summer day, the ultraviolet from the sun will be about 95% UVA, 5% UVB and virtually no UVC as that is filtered out by ozone and the atmosphere (thankfully). Most of our lamps are a combination of UVA and UVB, although some like the Curall 365 will only produce UVA at 365-366nm. Each is purpose built because the different portions of UVA and UVB do different things.
