How to
UV Curing

Built your own UV rig
Several pages on how to create your own UV curing rig, or UV device for other purposes.

Curing rigs - Actual hand built examples
I'm handy with a soldering iron, but I am NOT a carpenter. If I can build these then YOU can do it better! Here I show you some of my projects, to give you ideas on how to build your own, and show you how easy it is. We also have examples from customers, so take a look inside and get some good ideas.
Surfboards can bring extra challenges, particularly if you are curing boards over 6 foot long. I explain a few principles here and provide images explaining how to do this.
Pool cues & small items
Pool cues and fishing lures are both common requests for UV curing lamps, and they can use the same basic rig. This rig is good for any small items, and just uses four lamps and one ballast.
Guitars / Violins
Using 12 to 16 lamps, you can create a completely professional curing booth that is capable of curing many guitars in one day. Curing upright, you can build in a booth in well under 10 square feet of space.
Trichomes or not, a variety of plants have shown to increase essential resins when exposed to UVB in particular. Whether you are growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, or (legally) growing medicinal cannabis indoors, this explains some basics on the rigging.
Wood aging
Many carpenters are using ultraviolet lights for aging wood. This is most common to match up fine wood used in repairs in the home or yacht, but it is also used for new items to give them a weathered looks, and a warmth and depth that before, took years to accomplish. Here are some basics.
Clear plastic shields
Important information if you are going to build an enclosed fixture.
Solacure Means Quality

Solacure ultraviolet lamps aren't just good, we guarantee they are the best or your money back. We don't use stock parts anywhere in our products. Our glass is a special blend, and more transparent to UVA and UVB. Our 32 watt lamps use 60 watt rated cathodes and are tested at almost 70 watts of power. Almost all our lamps have built in reflectors. All are designed to be overdriven to extra high wattages. We test, and test, and test our lamps.

We stand behind everything we sell and guarantee each will perform exactly to specification, or we will replace them. We don't want your business this week, we want it every week, and we are willing to earn it. There really is a difference in quality when it comes to ultraviolet bulbs, and Solacure tops the list.

Buy with confidence: We like what we do, and we've been doing it for over 30 years.
